Cosmetic Dentist

Many people want to change the way they look whether it means getting a tan, losing weight or undergoing cosmetic surgery. We are bombarded by perfect looking celebrities on TV, in magazines and in films that all seem to look amazing, this causes many people to be unhappy about their appearance and want to make a change.

It is becoming more and more popular in today’s world to undergo cosmetic treatments such as breast enlargements, tummy-tucks and botox. These treatments can help people to gain the body they dream of but what about their teeth?

More and more people are starting to realise the importance of having good teeth. A bright, white, straight smile can make people feel more confident and can make it easier for them to smile. We are judged by first appearances and often people with bad teeth who try to hide them by not smiling can seem unfriendly or shy. It is for these reasons amongst others that cosmetic dentistry procedures such as cosmetic veneer treatments are gaining such wide popularity.

Cosmetic veneers or clear aligners can give people the smiles of their dreams and give them the confidence to be able to smile more. Veneers are thin tooth facings that are bonded to the front of natural teeth to create a visually perfect smile. They can be made in any shade the patient requires from bright white to a darker white and as they are made from ceramic, they are very strong and hard wearing.

A popular treatment option amongst celebrities, veneers really can improve people smiles whilst still allowing the patient to bite and chew naturally. Expect to pay around £400 – £600 per veneer but many dentists do offers if a patient needs a few of them at once.

An option for people who cant afford ceramic veneers but still want to improve their teeth is composite veneers. Composite veneers are made of composite resin which is a white coloured material that can be bonded onto teeth and then sculpted to look just like a natural tooth. Composite bonding is especially useful for closing gaps in gappy teeth, elongating teeth that are too short or simple covering over stained teeth. Composite veneers are cheaper than ceramic veneers but despite looking good, they are not as strong and will need to be replaced every few years or so.

There is a new dental treatment that is real on trend and only a fraction of the price of traditional veneers and cosmetic bonding.
